Societal change starts with real talk and real engagement. The CVC Outreach Program will be dedicated to quality trainings, presentations and group discussions based on developmental maturity and geared towards professional need and primary prevention objectives.
Description/Goal:
The CVC provides entire communities with the skills and knowledge to keep themselves and their neighborhoods safe from all types of crimes at any stage in life. The Community Outreach Program looks to provide one-time presentations to any community organization, group, etc. that wants to provide informed, cultural relevant education to their members. Organizations considered eligible for Community Outreach Programming include Community Centers, Daycare Facilities, Churches, Youth Centers, Shelters, etc.
Programs Offered:
Senior Safety Programming:
A conversation on the latest tricks of scammers and how to keep yourself and your assets safe in the ever-evolving world of scammers.
Professional Development Trainings:
These trainings are based on State Required Training Mandates including Act 71 Training, Act 126 Training, and Act 31 Training. A sexual harassment training is also available.

Best for Youth Centers, Daycares, Health Care Professionals, and other organizations geared towards dealing with or servicing minors.
Trauma-Informed Trainings:
These are focused on providing training on recognition of trauma, trauma-informed counseling practices, resources available, and how to avoid staff burnout.

Best for shelters, youth centers, churches/religious organizations, or other community-service based organizations that may encounter an individual in crisis
Emotional Regulation Programming:
Age-Appropriate programming to teach emotional regulations, asserting boundaries, and communication empowerment to small children. Best for children between the ages of 5-9.

Criminal Justice Professionals - Simple as Can Be:
This discussion/training can be provided to minimize the confusion between legal terms and criminal justice slang in order to help the average individual better understand what is going on and being said throughout the criminal justice system and its processes.
First Responders Vicarious Trauma Program:
This informational session is focused on the awareness of vicarious trauma and how it interferes with all aspects of life. Tips and tricks are also provided as we create safety plans to help address burnout and minimize stress among police departments, fire departments, medical staff, etc.
Law Enforcement Program - A Shift in Focus:
This course is designed to change society’s negative perception of law enforcement by focusing on community efforts, collaboration, and care. Throughout the program, local police departments can build stronger relationships with their communities while building rapport and undergoing trauma informed trainings.
Campus Police and Health Center Trainings:
We can help create partnerships with campus police and health centers throughout the Lehigh Valley. These connections can increase interactions and trust between students and faculty while promoting empowerment, communication, and trauma informed trainings.
