Lehigh Valley Crime Victim Advocates

CVC is a dedicated nonprofit organization offering compassionate, nonjudgmental support to victims of all forms of violence, as well as their families and loved ones, across Northampton and Lehigh Counties. All of CVC's programs and services are completely confidential and provided free of charge.

CVC staff are available at both the Lehigh and Northampton County Courthouses to offer support, guidance, and accompaniment throughout criminal justice proceedings. Testifying? Here are Tips to Remember

  1. Come to court dress appropriately, nice and neat.

  2. No chewing gum or candy.

  3. Always tell the truth.

  4. Speak loudly and clearly to everyone

  5. Listen carefully to all the questions, if you did not hear, or do not understand a question ask, "Can you repeat the question"? or say "I do not understand the question."

  6. Take your time and answer the question directly. Do not add information.

  7. Be respectful. Remain calm, avoid use of profanities and outbursts.

  8. If there is an objection, do not answer the question until the judge instructs you to.

  9. Do not use social media outlets to post or comment on the case.

Notification Systems for Crime Victims

As a crime victim, you have the right to be informed if an offender is released, transferred, or escapes from a county jail or state prison. To receive notifications, you can register with the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification System (PA SAVIN). Simply click here or call 1-866-972-7284 to sign up.

If the offender is serving a state sentence of 24 months or more, you are entitled to additional services and notifications that are not available to the general public. To access these enhanced services, register with the Office of the Victim Advocate.
